Ukrainian military forces are mentally preparing to defend the Dnipro – Bild reported
September 2, 2024Russia has begun using drones controlled via fiber optic cables.
This was reported by military expert Julian Röpcke from Bild.
He draws this conclusion based on a video where a drone destroys an Australian Bushmaster armored vehicle in the Kursk region.
“Before the strike, the FPV drone skillfully avoided burning vehicles on the road and moved very close to the asphalt surface. It transmitted a very high-quality image to the operator. Röpcke believes this is evidence that the drone was controlled not by a radio signal, but via a fiber optic cable,” Bild writes.
Such drones are currently being tested in the West (as seen in the video).
They can bypass any electronic warfare system and increase accuracy from 20% to 95%. The cable length is up to 10 km. Röpcke doubts that Russia currently has many such drones.
