One of the publication’s interlocutors stated that the Ukrainian President’s plan “contains no real surprises and is not a serious game-changer.”

There is a desire to hear from Zelensky about what the end of the war might look like. At least one Western country has suggested starting negotiations on this topic with Russia.

Allies are discussing the possibility of approaching Putin before the G20 meeting in Brazil, scheduled for November.

“The grim assessment of the document highlights the deepening sense of pessimism among allies as the military conflict drags on. According to two sources, one Western ally suggested that it might be time for a new round of engagement with President Vladimir Putin, either by Zelensky or by other countries,” the publication writes.
