A Ukrainian soldier reported that the Russians have captured Pishchane near Kupiansk and are advancing towards the Oskil River
24.09.2024 - 23:43Ukrainian military report a critical situation in Vuhledar.
Stanislav Bunyatov, a serviceman from the 24th Separate Assault Battalion “Aidar,” writes that Russian forces are gradually advancing west of Vuhledar toward the Bohoyavlenka-Vuhledar road.
“If they cut off this road, the prospects for defending the city will disappear before they push through the pincers towards Vodiane,” he stated.
Lieutenant of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign “Alex” has essentially called for the evacuation of troops from Vuhledar.
“Unfortunately, the moment to change the situation around Vuhledar has been lost, especially concerning the flanks. It’s not just about making decisions but about implementing specific plans to preserve the lives of our guys and prevent the situation from worsening further,” writes the lieutenant.
At the same time, Russian sources report that their units have captured the entire territory of the “Yuzhnodonbasskaya No. 3” mine located northeast of Vuhledar, which could expedite the encirclement of the city from the north.
Meanwhile, a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign “Muchnoy” reported that on the Vuhledar front, Russian forces have advanced north of Prechystivka towards Novoukrainka, capturing two Ukrainian strongpoints.
Additionally, he mentioned that Russian troops “took a key strongpoint west of Vuhledar.”
“We don’t have any good escape routes left; everything else is easily controlled by the enemy’s drones and can be targeted by anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). I think our soldiers should get out of there because the trap is slowly closing,” added “Muchnoy.”
