07.10.2024 - 05:49Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has accused the West of prolonging the war in Ukraine. In his view, the West aims to “bring the Russians to their knees” and is “supporting the killing of Slavs.”
This statement was reported by the local newspaper “Pravda”.
According to Fico, the current war between Moscow and Kyiv is “a military conflict where Slavs are being killed, and Europe is supporting this killing.” He reiterated his opposition to Ukraine’s accession to NATO, although he does not oppose Ukraine joining the European Union.
Fico also mentioned that he intends to visit Moscow in 2025 for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. He urged people to “not suffer from Russophobia,” explaining that he wants to “thank the liberators,” as “freedom in Slovakia came from the East.”
Previously, Fico had claimed that “Nazi troops” are fighting in Ukraine and that the international community is ignoring this fact.
“We all talk about fascism and Nazism, yet we silently tolerate the fact that troops in Ukraine bear very clear symbols associated with movements that we today consider dangerous and banned. Since this is a geopolitical battle, no one seems to care,” Fico said.
It is worth noting that the Slovak prime minister believes that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would lead to World War III.
