In the Khmelnytskyi region, a soldier accidentally wounded a child in the leg with a machine gun while attempting to shoot down a Russian “Shahed” drone. The incident occurred on August 27.
This revealed in a court ruling dated October 16, published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
The case was heard in the Khmelnytskyi District Court. According to the case materials, on August 27, around 10:32 AM, while repelling a drone attack, there was a violation of weapons handling rules: a bullet from a large-caliber machine gun struck and injured a child, causing a torn wound to the right thigh.
The child required hospital treatment following the injury.
The court has granted investigators access to evidence to clarify the details of the incident.
On the day of the incident, the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tyurin, reported that a 12-year-old child had been injured during the drone attack and was hospitalized.
