The Kremlin stated the possibility of the U.S. helping to resolve the conflict in Ukraine
06.11.2024 - 13:16The Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament, Oleksandr Kornienko, has asked Donald Trump to help the Verkhovna Rada get re-elected.
According to Ukrainian media, the appeal was made during a teleconference titled “U.S. Elections and the Future of Ukraine” at the Kyiv School of Public Administration.
“Unfortunately, we in the Verkhovna Rada cannot change like they (Congress) do, but we would very much like American politicians—everyone, starting with Donald Trump, the elected president, and including Congress, the Senate—to do their utmost to help us hold new elections. This is our request as members of parliament to them,” said Kornienko.
He added that for the elections to take place, the war must end since voting cannot be conducted in Ukraine during martial law.
We analyzed in a separate article what a Trump victory in the U.S. presidential elections would mean for Ukraine. Biden’s departure could potentially bring peace to Ukraine, but for this to happen, several factors need to align simultaneously.
