06.11.2024 - 15:14Starting from November 1, the training duration for mobilized personnel in training centers will be extended from one month to one and a half months.
This change was announced by the Main Directorate of Doctrines and Training of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to one of the Ukrainian media outlets.
Additionally, the General Staff has prepared other changes to military training, including:
- Increased firearms training from 68 hours to 101 hours, with the number of rounds per recruit increased from 300 to up to 850, and shooting exercises from different positions expanded from 23 to 45;
- Training with additional types of weapons, such as machine guns, handheld anti-tank grenade launchers, and automatic grenade launchers;
- Increased number of tactical exercises and enhanced engineering training;
- New training directions, including combat operations in the presence of enemy drones, medical assistance, and familiarization with trench electronic warfare (EW) systems.
Furthermore, video cameras will be installed in the training centers.
At the start of the war in 2022, basic training for new recruits lasted only two weeks due to the urgent need to replenish manpower on the front lines. Under this approach, around 40 new brigades were created within the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelensky has extended martial law and mobilization in Ukraine until February 7.
