The potential new U.S. Secretary of State believes that the war in Ukraine should be ended as it has reached a stalemate

The war in Ukraine has “reached a stalemate” and needs to be stopped.

This statement was made by prominent Republican and Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who is being mentioned in the media as a potential candidate for Secretary of State under Donald Trump, during an appearance on Today.

“I think the Ukrainians have been incredibly brave and strong in resisting Russia. But ultimately, what we are funding here is a stalemate war, and it needs to be brought to an end. I think there has to be common sense applied here. It will take Ukraine 100 years to rebuild the country,” Rubio said.

He added that Trump wants to end the war, but this does not make him a “fan of Vladimir Putin.”
