15.01.2025 - 15:08Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla posted a video from Russian Telegram channels showing captured Ukrainian fortifications near Pokrovsk.
The video, accompanied by her comments, was shared on Facebook.
“Fortifications built by the Regional Military Administration (RMA), which no one used: not a single shell casing, uninhabited, simply handed over to the Russians without a fight. People on the front line are forced to hold positions in bushes, but no second echelon is formed on already prepared positions. As a result, a few people on the front line die or flee, and the Russians capture everything,” Bezuhla wrote.
She claims to have recently visited the front lines and witnessed “kilometers of such positions standing completely empty and deteriorating.”
The MP also noted that frontline units are “prohibited from planning retreats or even using such terms.”
Meanwhile, the editor-in-chief of the *Censor.net* website, Yuriy Butusov, claimed that Ukrainian command no longer controls the situation near Pokrovsk and Velyka Novosilka.
“Another four kilometers, and the enemy will cut off the key Dnipro-Pokrovsk highway. We are losing Pokrovsk incompetently and irresponsibly. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demonstrating an inability to influence the course of events. The official explanation for the enemy’s progress is solely its significant numerical advantage, but our soldiers in Pokrovsk have a completely opposite opinion and believe that it is entirely possible to break the Russian advance and plan a defense. The issue is that no effort has been made to stop the enemy at any line. Our troops are essentially continuously thrown into counterattacks; firepower is underutilized, drone usage is limited, there is no coordination between drones and electronic warfare, no engineering works are being done, and our infantry is suffering significant losses without time to prepare and consolidate,” Butusov wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, unit commanders speak of “a lack of accountability among the command for setting unrealistic tasks, poor coordination between units, and a lack of planning and organization of defensive battles.”
Butusov stated that the leaders of the “Donetsk” group, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, and “Khortytsia,” Andriy Hnatov, have “lost control” and called for Tarnavskyi to be replaced by the head of the Ground Forces, Mykhailo Drapatyi.
Previously, Bezuhla wrote that the Russians had captured Novohrodivka in the Pokrovsk direction within a few days. According to her, this happened despite the presence of fortifications.
Media outlets have also reported that in the frontline town of Myrnohrad, Donetsk region, a dump site of “dragon’s teeth” was discovered. The concrete pyramids were intended for use in constructing anti-tank defenses.
