Boulders, barbed wire, and a lone dog: A video from the Ukraine-Belarus border has been published
16.01.2025 - 05:35In recent days, Russian forces have made gains near the village of Kotlyno, west of Pokrovsk.
This was reported by the Telegram channel Deep State.
“The Russian army has reached the road and railway southwest of the village and is also attempting to push into the settlement itself,” the channel noted.
Deep State believes that “these advances once again demonstrate the enemy’s intent to encircle Pokrovsk.”
However, according to the channel, the main goal for Russia in this area is to “gain control over logistics, which they are attempting to achieve by at least placing it under fire control.”
“To this end, the enemy is employing FPV drones, and more recently, fiber-optic drones that are gaining popularity due to their immunity to electronic warfare (EW). At times, one of the enemy’s most effective drone units, ‘Sudoplat,’ is observed operating in the area. Their target is the road from Pavlograd to Pokrovsk, which is already at risk for safe movement,” the message states.
Deep State also reported on the activity of Russian forces toward Udachnoye, which could become a stronghold for Russian troops in this area, potentially solidifying their advance toward the Donetsk region’s border.
“Assault actions are being carried out toward Zverovo from the village of Peschanoye, as well as the consolidation and resource buildup in Shevchenko, which the enemy has effectively occupied and is turning into a fortified stronghold,” the channel added.
