“They beat him for three hours, extorting money.” An Odesa writer accused the Military Recruitment Office of kidnapping her son

Odessa-based writer Victoria Koltunova has accused employees of the territorial recruitment center of kidnapping and assaulting her son.

She shared the details on her Facebook page.

Koltunova stated that staff from the territorial recruitment center took her son out of the city and beat him for three hours.

“My son was seized by employees of the territorial recruitment center, taken out of the city, and, despite having all the documents showing that I, his mother, and his wife are both disabled (Group 2), they beat him for about three hours, extorting money. Then they dumped him on the side of the road unconscious, thinking he was dead. Passersby called an ambulance. He has three broken ribs, a punctured lung caused by a rib, internal bleeding in the lung, a bruised spleen, and a concussion. He’s already undergone one unsuccessful lung operation, and a second one is scheduled for Monday. I’m in shock. I can’t think straight,” Koltunova wrote.

The Odessa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center has stated that an internal investigation is underway. A commission has been created, and witnesses are currently being questioned while evidence is being gathered.
