Drivers have started being fined for driving during the daily minute of silence

In Ukraine, sanctions are being imposed on drivers for continuing to drive during the daily moment of silence.

This was reported by the Patrol Police of the Rivne region on Facebook.

According to the post, a driver of a Volkswagen Passat was fined in Rivne for ignoring the signal from a traffic controller to stop and continuing to drive.

“Today at 9 AM, by the signal of the traffic controller, all vehicles stopped in honor of those who died in the war. However, the driver of the Volkswagen Passat decided that this did not apply to him and drove on. After the moment of silence, we found the violator. A fine was issued to the 30-year-old driver under part 2 of Article 122 (for driving past the prohibition signal of the controller). As the driver explained, he was in a hurry, which is why he did not stop,” the police noted.

Earlier, media reported how, during a funeral procession for fallen Ukrainian soldiers in Kyiv, an emcee harshly ordered pedestrians to kneel over a microphone.
