Trump did not respond to Zelensky’s “regrets.” What could be the reaction of the U.S. president?
04.03.2025 - 23:47Allies of U.S. President Donald Trump say that the ban on arms supplies to Ukraine could be lifted if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky begins peace negotiations.
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that the halt in arms deliveries to Ukraine is only a temporary pause. However, he emphasized that Kyiv and Washington must sign the minerals agreement and that Zelensky must “fix what happened last week.”
“I believe this is the best deal that can be offered, and it will help the Ukrainian people,” Johnson added.
Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance outlined another condition for potentially resuming military aid to Ukraine: the initiation of peace talks by Kyiv.
Earlier today, Zelensky published a post in which he expressed readiness both to sign the deal and to pursue a peaceful resolution. However, he also set his own conditions for this, which do not align with Trump’s demands. Additionally, Zelensky did not apologize to the U.S. president but only expressed regret.
It is worth noting that after the altercation between Zelensky and Trump at the White House, relations between Kyiv and Washington have deteriorated. Last night, the U.S. suspended military aid to Ukraine.
