The U.S. is considering a date for peace talks with Kyiv, and military supplies may resume – Waltz

The United States has begun discussions on the date, location, and composition of a team for peace talks with Ukraine, after which military supplies to Kyiv may resume.

This was reported by U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, who serves under President Donald Trump, according to Reuters.

“We are already discussing confidence-building measures, which we will then present to the Russians and test their durability. I believe that if we can solidify these negotiations and move toward them, as well as actually put some confidence-building measures on the table, the president will seriously consider lifting this pause,” Waltz said.

He added that the U.S. wants to ensure that both sides are genuinely engaged in negotiations for a partial and then permanent peace. Waltz also noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s post expressing regret over the Oval Office dispute was a “good, positive first step.”

Earlier, Trump addressed Congress, stating that both Ukraine and Russia are ready for peace talks.

At the same time, White House allies suggest that the ban on arms supplies to Ukraine could be lifted if the Ukrainian president initiates peace negotiations.
