05.03.2025 - 21:08Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky has called the appeal to U.S. President Donald Trump on behalf of the Verkhovna Rada a forgery.
He made this statement on his Telegram channel.
Dubinsky noted that no official appeal from the Rada to Trump had been presented. Instead, it was allegedly forged by Ukrainian parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk at the direction of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office.
“I am preparing an appeal to Stefanchuk to find out on what basis he posted a fake document on the Verkhovna Rada’s website, who approved it, and why this document was not presented to parliament,” the statement reads.
Earlier, during an address to Congress, Trump stated that there were “strong signals from Russia” indicating readiness for peace negotiations on Ukraine.
According to Trump, alongside negotiations with Kyiv, Washington has held serious discussions with Moscow, and there is now a chance to end the conflict.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously said he was ready for negotiations with Volodymyr Zelensky on resolving the conflict in Ukraine. However, he believes that Zelensky has no legal authority to sign any agreements due to his illegitimacy.
Putin also emphasized the need for Ukraine to revoke its decree banning negotiations with Russia. He pointed out that the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada could cancel this decree.
