06.03.2025 16:45U.S. President Donald Trump supports a reset in relations between Washington and Moscow as a means to end the war in Ukraine.
This was stated by U.S. Special Representative Keith Kellogg during a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington.
“The broader strategy that Trump adheres to in this conflict is based on the understanding that the United States needs to reset its relations with Russia. Continuing attempts to isolate and avoid dialogue with Russia is not a viable strategy,” he said.
The special representative also noted that the resumption of U.S. military aid to Ukraine depends on Kyiv’s willingness to reach a settlement and sign a deal regarding mineral resources.
“This is a function of coercion to make it clear that we want to move towards peace negotiations and a peace agreement,” Kellogg emphasized.
Previously, U.S. Presidential Adviser Michael Waltz and other associates, as well as American media, reported that Washington’s primary condition for resuming aid is Ukraine’s readiness for a peaceful settlement.
