06.03.2025 17:14Dmytro Cherny, a member of the pro-presidential Servant of the People party, has called on Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) to investigate former President Petro Poroshenko and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko following a Politico report about their alleged contacts with individuals close to U.S. President Donald Trump. According to Cherny, such interactions pose a risk of destabilization.
He published his appeal to the SBU on his Facebook page.
“Today, Politico released an article titled: ‘Top Trump Allies Hold Secret Talks with Zelensky’s Ukrainian Opponents.’ The article refers to Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko. According to the publication, they are allegedly being pressured to push President Zelensky to resign and call elections,” Cherny wrote.
He speculated that the purpose of such contacts “could be to destabilize the situation, put pressure on Zelensky, and promote a candidate willing to make concessions to Russia,” despite both politicians publicly opposing elections before the end of hostilities.
“In light of this, I am appealing to the Security Service of Ukraine to verify Politico’s information and provide a legal assessment,” Cherny stated.
It should be noted that Tymoshenko and Poroshenko have confirmed their participation in discussions with U.S. representatives but emphasized that they oppose holding elections during wartime.
