The consequences of halting U.S. arms and intelligence supplies to Ukraine will worsen – The Wall Street Journal
10.03.2025 06:43The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has ended support for Ukraine’s F-16 fighter jets, creating serious operational difficulties for the Ukrainian Air Force.
This information reports by Forbes.
The U.S. has stopped supplying essential components, including radar jamming systems, which are critical for the survival of F-16s in combat.
“The Trump administration has halted U.S. aid to Ukraine, including vital support for F-16 radar jammers,” the article states.
Previously, Ukraine’s F-16s had been upgraded with AN/ALQ-131 electronic warfare pods as well as PIDS+ and ECIPS+ systems, significantly enhancing their ability to counter Russian threats.
However, military analyst David Axe noted that Ukraine now places high hopes on French Mirage-2000 fighter jets, which France is currently supplying.
Unlike the F-16s, the French aircraft are equipped with their own advanced electronic warfare systems, and the U.S. is not involved in their programming, making them a potentially more reliable alternative for Ukraine.
