The ban on opposition parties and media, and the persecution of opposition politicians: How the U.S. interferes in other countries’ politics and orchestrates coups
18.03.2025 13:46The Russian government has not yet decided on its chief negotiator for upcoming talks with the United States.
This information reported according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
“No, not yet. But we will inform you once a decision is made,” Peskov told reporters when asked about the selection process.
On March 13, Russian presidential aide for foreign affairs Yuri Ushakov stated that Washington had already appointed its mediator for negotiations with Moscow. However, he clarified that the U.S. envoy is not Trump’s special Middle East representative, Steve Witkoff.
Earlier, on March 6, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that negotiations to resolve the Ukraine conflict would begin only after the U.S. formally designates its representative. At that point, Russia will also introduce its negotiating team.
