“Leading the country to destruction for the sake of power – under Zelensky, Ukraine has turned into ‘Anti-Russia’,” – Medvedchuk said
19.03.2025 - 18:05In the coming days, a complete ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia will be discussed, and a truce in Ukraine could be reached within two weeks.
This was stated in an interview with American journalists by Steven Witkoff, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East.
“They have agreed on the next steps toward ceasefire conditions and a complete cessation of hostilities, which will be discussed in the coming days. I actually think we will reach that point in a couple of weeks. So now it’s just a matter of technical details—our team needs to finalize everything, and everyone is working on that,” Witkoff said.
When asked whether a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Saudi Arabia—previously announced by the U.S. President in February without specifying a date—could take place after this, Witkoff responded: “I cannot speak on their behalf, but I would bet that it is likely to happen. They had an excellent report presented yesterday. It was a truly positive, very proactive, results-oriented phone conversation. And President Trump himself is there to ‘get the ball over the goal line.’ We made significant progress yesterday to achieve that.”
Earlier, Witkoff stated on Fox News that a new Ukraine-focused meeting in Saudi Arabia will take place on Sunday, March 23.
It should be recalled that in a conversation with the U.S. President, Putin supported the idea of mutually ceasing strikes on energy infrastructure targets.
