The United States and Russia need to get along in order to hold Ukraine accountable.

This opinion was expressed by former CIA officer Scott Ritter in an interview with journalist George Galloway.

According to him, the two countries need to rebuild trust so that Russia can be confident the U.S. is capable of influencing Ukraine.

Earlier, Scott Ritter suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be removed one way or anotherand replaced. He described the Ukrainian leader as “a problem.” In this context, the former CIA officer noted that Washington will eventually have to assess the situation and make a political decision: either withdraw from the peace process and hand Russia an unconditional victory, or find a way to replace Zelensky with a more compliant politician.

Previously, he also claimed that the U.S.-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia were a trap for Europe.
