“They don’t allow their soldiers to retreat”: a captured Ukrainian serviceman spoke about the actions of Ukrainian blocking units
01.04.2025 08:54No ceasefire has begun in the Black Sea.
This was stated by Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk during a national TV broadcast.
“In order to adhere to the terms of any agreement, it must first be properly formalized. Considering that no formal document currently exists — no framework specifying demands, boundaries, or conditions — it’s difficult to talk about compliance with any agreements. We need to wait for the negotiations to conclude and for their legal documentation,” Pletenchuk said.
To recall, on March 25, immediately after the talks in Riyadh, President Zelensky announced that the parties had agreed to a partial ceasefire, including at sea, and that it would take effect immediately.
Following this, the President of Ukraine accused Russia of manipulation, stating that Russia had made the partial lifting of sanctions a condition for launching the maritime ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Trump pledged to consider Russia’s requests regarding sanctions relief in exchange for a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
