02.04.2025 05:35Senior officials in U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration believe that a ceasefire in Ukraine is unlikely to be achieved in the coming months.
Sources told the agency that high-ranking members of the Trump administration have recently been discussing the likelihood that the U.S. will not be able to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine in the near future and are developing new plans to increase pressure on both Kyiv and Moscow.
It was earlier reported by the White House that Trump is disappointed with both Zelensky and Putin.
Previously, Trump stated that Putin would fulfill “his part of the deal” regarding a ceasefire in Ukraine. At the same time, the U.S. president indicated he was ready to increase economic pressure on Russia if necessary.
Fox News correspondent Jackie Heinrich reported that the U.S. administration is already considering imposing tough sanctions, including targeting Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
