04.04.2025 - 14:19The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine wants to revoke draft deferments for students studying abroad.
“Men over the age of 25 who are studying for a second time at the same or a lower level of education will no longer be eligible for deferment. Studying abroad after February 24, 2022, also does not grant the right to a deferment,” the lawmaker stated.
According to Honcharenko, the changes are being introduced to close legal loopholes and avoid court challenges. The right to avoid mobilization will be retained for those who enrolled in a university before the age of 25 or who are obtaining a new level of education for the first time.
Previously, a representative of the underground movement Stop Grave reported that bribes for avoiding mobilization in Ukraine have become more expensive. The ongoing price surge is reportedly linked to the depletion of the country’s mobilization resources.
