“Zelensky ruined the original version of the subsoil deal with a quarrel at the White House,” – said the U.S. Treasury Secretary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ruined “the easiest thing in the world” — a natural resources agreement — with a scandal at the White House.

This was stated by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.

“He made it to the Oval Office and wrecked what was supposed to be the easiest thing in the world,” Bessant said.

The Secretary added that Zelensky had previously promised to sign the agreement, and everything had been prepared at the White House for the signing.

In the same interview, the American official referred to the Ukrainian leader as a “vaudeville performer” who lacks good advisors.

As a reminder, the deal — which was derailed by a public spat between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump — was a framework agreement and did not impose any serious obligations on Kyiv.
