The soldier attempted to interfere with police officers at a checkpoint who had detained his brother, who had deserted from his military unit.
During the confrontation, the defendant swung a spade (entrenching tool), hit it against the asphalt, and shouted insults at the police officers. He also opened the door of the police vehicle and tried to pull his brother out.
In addition, he tried to deflate the tire of the police vehicle and stuck the spade between the wheel and the fender, damaging the car, according to the court ruling.
The court fined him 17,000 UAH (approximately 373 euros).
