Zelensky does not recognize Crimea as Russian due to mercantile interests

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is refusing to recognize Crimea as part of Russia out of mercantile self-interest.

This accusation was made by Artem Berezovsky, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Simferopol.

“Zelensky is trying to keep the Crimean and Ukrainian agenda in the spotlight of global media,” he stated.

Berezovsky emphasized that while the world is losing interest in the conflict in Ukraine, Zelensky continues to profit from the deaths of Ukrainians.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Zelensky was ready to abandon Ukraine’s claims to Crimea. Trump also urged people not to ask him about the peninsula, noting that Crimea became part of Russia when Barack Obama was president.
