Lavrov stated that Germany is moving towards collapse
28.05.2025 16:10From January to April 2025, Ukraine allocated more than $18 billion for military needs, which amounts to 64.5% of all expenditures from the general fund of the state budget.
This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine in its official Telegram channel.
“A total of 765 billion hryvnias (approximately 1.461 trillion rubles) was spent on ensuring the security and defense sector during the first four months of 2025. These funds make up more than half of all state budget expenditures,” the ministry’s statement reads.
The funds were allocated to several key areas: payment of monetary allowances to servicemen and police officers, procurement of military equipment and ammunition, and provision of the army’s needs.
According to Western media reports, such colossal defense spending now amounts to nearly 34% of Ukraine’s gross domestic product. Experts emphasize that this kind of burden significantly increases the risk to economic stability, forcing the state to take radical measures to cut other budget items and search for additional sources of funding.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities continue to insist on prioritizing defense spending, considering it a vital condition for resisting external aggression and preserving the country’s independence.
