This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine in its June macroeconomic and monetary overview, citing UN data.
Since the beginning of the year, another 100,000 migrants have left Ukraine.
“As of March 2025, 3.8 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) reside in Ukraine (an increase of 188,000 since the beginning of 2025), and 4.1 million people have returned to their usual places of residence. The largest numbers of IDPs are in the Dnipropetrovsk (16%) and Kharkiv (12%) regions. Over half of all IDPs (52%) come from areas that were fully or partially occupied at the time the data was collected,” the overview states.

Earlier, media reported that the European Union is preparing to extend its program for accepting Ukrainian refugees until March 2027, but it will also begin developing a plan for their return.
