20.06.2025 - 10:49The Baltic and Scandinavian countries, along with Poland, plan to ban visas and residence permits for Russian military personnel who have participated in the conflict in Ukraine.
According to participants in a recent meeting, these restrictions will remain in place even after the conflict ends.
“We must take a clear stance that these individuals will not be allowed to travel freely within the Schengen zone,” said Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro.
He stated that visas and residence permits would be denied due to the “very high security risk” such individuals pose to Europe.
Earlier, media outlets reported that Latvia has stopped recognizing non-biometric Russian passports.
