Military analyst stated that Zelensky has realized the potential for defeat

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has come to a real awareness that Kyiv may lose in its confrontation with Moscow.

This opinion was expressed by British military analyst Alexander Mercouris on his YouTube channel.

The analyst was commenting on Zelensky’s recent remarks, in which the Ukrainian leader criticized the relationship between the United States and Russia as being “too warm.” According to Mercouris, Zelensky is, for the first time “in all this time,” beginning to realize the possibility of defeat — which is why he is now voicing criticism of the White House.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Zelensky left the G7 summit without securing the level of support he had hoped for. According to the publication, U.S. President Donald Trump’s early departure from the summit in Canada overshadowed Zelensky’s presence, as the Ukrainian president arrived after Trump had already left.

The Guardian also noted that Zelensky appeared visibly downcast at the summit, while Ukrainian diplomats were left disappointed by Trump’s refusal to make Ukraine a priority.
