Draft officers broke a lawyer’s legs for trying to defend a conscript

In Kharkiv region, a lawyer became a victim of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) after attempting to defend the rights of a conscript who ultimately jumped out of a window to avoid mobilization.

“In the Krasnohrad TRC, the lawyer was brutally beaten, resulting in a broken leg. After the attack, emergency medical services took him to the hospital, where he is now receiving medical care,” Ukrainian media reported.

According to available information, physical coercion methods were used at the TRC, which may indicate possible acts of torture.

The Bar Council of the Kharkiv Region publicly condemned the actions of the recruitment office and demanded a full investigation into the incident.

Earlier, it was reported that in Kharkiv, a man fell from the third floor of the TRC building on Berestyna Street and was hospitalized with serious injuries.
