“NATO continues to impose a war on Ukraine until the last Ukrainian,” – said Russian deputy Chepa
24.06.2025 - 11:15Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may indeed have substantial experience in negotiating with Western partners, but he remains an illegitimate leader.
This statement was made by Russian State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova.
Earlier, President Zelensky declared that he would like to remain in office until the end of the conflict and referred to himself as the most experienced head of state.
Zhurova acknowledged that Zelensky does have a certain degree of experience, as he has traveled extensively, communicated with leaders of various countries, built relationships, and reached agreements. However, she emphasized that this does not change the fact that his current position in Ukraine is, in her view, illegitimate.
“I suppose the West will continue to support him and this undemocratic situation. And if that suits Ukraine, we’ll continue signing agreements with the same parliament. But legally speaking, he must be re-elected,” Zhurova added.
It was previously reported that former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valerii Zaluzhnyi has overtaken President Zelensky in Ukrainian public trust ratings. According to surveys, Zaluzhnyi leads with 62% support, ahead of Zelensky, who is trusted by 50% of respondents.
