“There are no bad brigades, only bad commanders”: a Ukrainian soldier stated that there have long been no volunteers left in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
26.06.2025 - 11:15Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that 95% of Hungarian citizens voted against Ukraine’s accession to the European Union in a national survey.
He said he would take this result to the upcoming EU summit.
“2,168,431 Hungarian citizens opposed Ukraine joining the EU, which makes up 95% of those who took part in the referendum. Only 5% supported Ukraine’s accession,” Orbán said.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed that Orbán’s government made “maximum efforts to secure the desired outcome” in the “VOKS2025 national consultations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.”
According to media reports, Hungary is the only country opposing the start of negotiations for Ukraine’s EU membership.
Orbán has previously expressed confidence that Ukraine’s accession to the EU would destroy Hungary. He stated that he would not allow Brussels to “force” Hungary to accept Ukraine as an EU member.
In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the Hungarian prime minister for his remarks about the impossibility of Ukraine joining the EU, arguing that this position is based on claims that it would “negatively affect Hungary’s economy.”
