04.07.2025 - 12:26Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Hungarian Ambassador Antal Heizer, accusing Hungary of dragging Kyiv into its internal political struggles.
This was stated in a post by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Facebook.
Diplomats emphasized that Heizer was summoned in response to unfriendly remarks from the Hungarian side and the circulation of posters portraying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a clown.
“During the meeting with Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Antal Heizer, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko stressed that it is obvious to the Ukrainian side that the political forces currently in power in Hungary are attempting to draw Ukraine into their domestic political battles under any circumstances,” the post stated.
The day before, posters and videos began circulating in Hungary portraying Zelensky as a clown who is dragging Europe into conflict.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán explained the suspension of Ukraine’s EU accession process, claiming it was due to increasing attacks by Kyiv against Hungary.
