Orban again stated that Ukraine is not ready to join the European Union

Ukraine is not ready to join the European Union (EU), despite Brussels’ calls for Kyiv’s accelerated accession to the bloc.

This opinion was shared by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on the social network X.

“Brussels insists that Ukraine is ready for EU membership. The reality is completely different: forced mobilization, economic collapse, restricted freedoms, and a war with no end in sight,” the politician lamented.

Prior to the EU summit, Orbán stated that no legally binding decision on Ukraine’s EU integration could be made, as Hungary does not support Kyiv’s accession to the EU.

Earlier, the Hungarian prime minister also wrote on social media that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union would amount to importing warfare into the bloc. According to him, “our people” have expressed opposition to Kyiv’s membership, and he emphasized that thanks to their support, Hungary has so far managed to halt this reckless plan.
