MP Herashchenko called prime minister candidate Svyrydenko “Miss Whatever You Please”
15.07.2025 - 12:03Moscow will continue to pursue its goals by military means if its willingness to negotiate is not reciprocated.
This was stated to TASS by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, commenting on recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“The Russian Federation rejects any attempts to impose demands, especially ultimatums. Moscow wants Washington and NATO to take Russia’s position with the utmost seriousness. If Russia’s willingness to negotiate is not reciprocated, the set objectives will continue to be achieved through the special military operation (SMO). This is an unwavering position,” Ryabkov said.
He also expressed readiness to engage in negotiations:
“We need to focus on political and diplomatic work. The President of the Russian Federation has repeatedly said that we are ready to negotiate, and the diplomatic path is preferable for us,” the deputy minister stated.
Another Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Alexander Grushko, called Trump’s conditions “strange,” noting that “there has been no call for Kyiv to resume negotiations.”
Meanwhile, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov added that the statement from Washington is “quite serious.”
“Some of it was addressed personally to President Putin. We certainly need time to analyze what was said in Washington. If and when President Putin deems it necessary, he will definitely comment on it. I wouldn’t want to jump ahead, so let’s wait for President Putin’s decision on whether he will comment himself,” the presidential spokesperson said.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia is indifferent to Trump’s “theatrical” threats.
Recall that Trump gave Vladimir Putin 50 days to end the war, threatening to impose tariffs.
