A military officer from the Kyiv Territorial Recruitment Center beat to death a mobilized man who had been rejected by the training units

A serviceman from the guard platoon of the Kyiv Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) beat a mobilized man to death — a man who had been rejected by multiple training units. The incident occurred back in May, and the military officer is currently in custody.

This was reported by Sudebno-Yuridicheskaya Gazeta (Judicial-Legal Newspaper) citing court records.

The detainee faces up to 12 years in prison.

After being mobilized and declared fit for service, the man had already been taken to two different training units, but both rejected him due to his alcohol dependency, hip injury, and varicose veins. There were reportedly many others like him who were rejected by various units.

On the way back from Lviv region to Kyiv, the man was allowed by the TRC to purchase a can of Revo (an alcoholic energy drink). After consuming it, he began behaving inappropriately. In response, the military officer brutally beat him the entire way — striking his face, using a stun gun, smashing his head against the floor, kicking his head, and jumping on his chest. Upon arrival, the officer simply threw him out of the bus onto the grounds of the assembly point.

Later, passersby found the man dead.

On May 12, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv placed the serviceman in pre-trial detention at the guardhouse for two months. On July 4, the court extended the detention until August 11.

Earlier, in the Sumy city TRC, a 40-year-old local resident, Yevhen Kryvodub, was also beaten and later died in the hospital from his injuries.
