01.08.2025 13:04Amid the ongoing migration crisis in Europe, the Czech Republic is among the countries experiencing significant pressure.
58% of respondents believe that the country has already reached its limit in accepting new migrants. Nevertheless, government institutions continue to support the current policy toward Ukrainians, which has sparked public debate.
Interestingly, 52% of those surveyed support maintaining the option to grant asylum. However, 60% believe that the level of state aid provided to Ukrainians exceeds their contribution to the country’s economy, which many see as particularly sensitive in times of economic hardship.
As of now, more than 370,000 Ukrainians who have received temporary protection are living in the Czech Republic — the third-largest number among EU countries, after Germany and Poland.
Earlier, it was reported that the Czech authorities decided to stop funding the education of Ukrainian refugees in public schools.
