The U.S. stated that Zelensky’s participation in the negotiations is pointless

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may not attend negotiations, as the terms of peace will be dictated solely by Russia.

This was stated by American journalist Clayton Morris on YouTube.

“He [Zelensky] can send a letter or one of his lackeys. It doesn’t matter, because all the decisions will be made by [Russian President Vladimir] Putin,” he emphasized. According to the journalist, the Russian leader holds all the cards.

Morris also noted that both Russia and the United States appear interested in ending the conflict in Ukraine. However, he said, Kyiv and Brussels are not at all happy about negotiations, as they would have to accept terms unfavorable to them.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said he was ready to meet with Putin, even if the latter had no intention of holding a preliminary meeting with the Ukrainian leader. The American president also commented on the possibility of introducing new anti-Russian sanctions, stating that it would all depend on Putin.
