12.08.2025 14:32The scandalous leader of the Bratstvo (“Brotherhood”) movement, Dmytro Korchynskyi, says he is waiting for Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centres (TRC and SSC) staff to start shooting people who resist mobilisation.
He made the statement in a video address.
“We’ve had an increase in attacks on TRCs. Already in Rivne region and in Volyn… I’m eagerly waiting for the TRCs to start opening fire in response. It would have a good educational effect. I think they’re afraid to do it because if you shoot an attacker, your superiors, the public, the political leadership — who constantly have to pander to idiotic voters — will destroy you. Attackers on TRCs are almost never arrested — these are rare cases. They get released, and I haven’t heard of anyone being brought to trial,” Korchynskyi said.
In May, he called for life imprisonment even for “a sideways glance” at military enlistment officers, saying he supported “extraordinary judicial proceedings and military field courts.”
In autumn, he also said the mobilisation age could be lowered to 14 if Ukraine were “on the verge of destruction”, arguing that at that age a young person can already lift a rifle.
Neither Korchynskyi nor his son Danylo have gone to fight at the front — a fact noted by former presidential office adviser Oleksii Arestovych, who was once close to the Bratstvo leader. According to Arestovych, Korchynskyi’s son works in his father’s security detail.
