The West is tired of the war: Zelensky is becoming a burden, and Britain hints at readiness to bargain with Moscow
13.08.2025 - 19:50Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could be overthrown after the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod.
“The third option (…) is a military coup, which is being talked about quite a lot (…) and a temporary transfer of power to the military, who would also sign all peace agreements,” Skorokhod said.
According to her, after a possible military transition, the country would be governed for some time by a transitional government, after which “everyone would go to elections.”
She added that a more likely scenario would be Zelensky or the head of parliament signing peace agreements, followed by the organization of elections.
Earlier, Zelensky rejected the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donbas. He stressed that he had not changed his position on this issue, explaining that any other decision would contradict the country’s constitution.
