15.08.2025 - 10:30Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova jokingly referred to a moose that tried to enter the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage — where Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with his American counterpart Donald Trump — as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
She posted the comment on her Telegram channel.
“Zelensky no longer knows what to come up with,” the diplomat wrote, commenting on a video showing the animal attempting to get onto the base where the talks will take place on August 15.
The meeting of the two heads of state in Alaska will begin at 10:30 p.m. Moscow time. As Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov explained, they will first hold a one-on-one conversation.
Earlier, Zakharova compared Zelensky and the leaders of EU countries to the characters in Sergey Mikhalkov’s work “And What About You?” This was her comment on the talks held between them ahead of the Putin–Trump meeting.
