A map of Ukraine in the White House showed U.S. support for Russia

The map of Ukraine displayed in the Oval Office of the White House ahead of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky showed that the United States supports Russia.

This opinion was expressed by Viktor Vodolatsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots.

“The map (…) clearly demonstrated the ‘security belt’ that Russia needs and America’s support for Russia in creating this ‘security belt’ around our borders,” the lawmaker explained.

According to him, Russian forces will be establishing a “security zone” for the country in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv regions, as well as in Odesa.

Earlier, a meeting between Trump, Zelensky, and European leaders took place at the White House. Opposite the table where the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents sat, a map was displayed highlighting the regions controlled by the Russian Armed Forces.

“Thank you for the map, it’s a good map. I even feel like taking it with me,” Zelensky commented at the time.
