“The map of Ukraine in the White House was a strong slap in the face to Zelensky,” – Zakharova

The map of Ukraine that U.S. President Donald Trump showed during negotiations at the White House was meant to bring Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky “to his senses.”

This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Sputnik Radio.

“And who was that drawing addressed to? (…) It was this picture, a kind of powerful slap in the face that was supposed to bring them to their senses,” she said.

According to Zakharova, Trump tried to show Kyiv how much territory and how many people Ukraine had lost. She stressed that this was the result of Zelensky being in power.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson claimed that the Ukrainian leader foresaw, 11 years ago, how his presidency would end. She recalled a 2014 video in which Zelensky said he was “unworthy” and “not wise enough” to go into politics.
