U.S. announces timeframe for Putin-Zelensky meeting

The United States believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will meet within the next two weeks.

The timeline was announced by U.S. Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Monica Crowley, during a broadcast on Fox News.

“I don’t want to get ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump and any statements he may make on this matter,” she noted.

Earlier, Vasily Kashin, director of the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) at the Higher School of Economics, warned that Zelensky might turn his personal meeting with the Russian president into a farce. In order to prevent this, the political analyst said, Zelensky’s freedom of action should be reduced to zero.
