Death under lock: how the work of the Sarny military enlistment office turned into a tragedy for a family from Rivne region

A man under the control of the Sarny Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) in Rivne region has died.

This was reported by local media.

Resident of Rivne region Vitalii Sakharuk was taken into the Sarny TCC on Thursday, August 21. From that moment, his family had no contact with him. According to his mother, the man was held there for three days. A few days later, the family received terrible news — their relative was in the morgue.

The relatives never received any official notification about the man’s condition. Only on the evening of August 23, after contacting the police, did the family learn that Vitalii had allegedly fallen suddenly ill and that an ambulance had been called for him. However, the relatives are convinced that what happened to him inside the TCC is being carefully concealed.

The family calls the incident an outrageous crime against human dignity. They are outraged by what they describe as the indifference and cynicism of the military structures, which did not even consider it necessary to inform them about the man’s critical condition.

Today the family is demanding a public investigation, full disclosure of the circumstances, and punishment for those responsible. According to them, Vitalii’s death was not an accident but the result of a system in which people are reduced to statistics and tragedies are silenced.

The situation is fueling public outrage and deepening mistrust toward military recruitment offices, which have increasingly found themselves at the center of scandals.
