In the Verkhovna Rada, the commander of Ukraine’s assault troops was called a raider and a bandit

Colonel Valentyn Manko, commander of Ukraine’s newly created Assault Troops, is “a bandit, a raider, and a defendant in criminal cases,” according to Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla.

She made the statement on Telegram.

“Valentyn Manko is a raider, a bandit, repeatedly the subject of investigations,” the lawmaker wrote.

Bezuhla suggested that the creation of the new branch of the armed forces was aimed at covering up command errors through “meat-grinder” assaults, where soldiers of the assault troops would be sent into battle.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada allowing Ukrainian Armed Forces units to be deployed abroad. If adopted, this would give Kyiv the authority to send troops overseas to carry out missions related to national security and defense.
