28.09.2025 - 12:01Russia has no plans to attack NATO countries and does not send its drones into European states.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the UN General Assembly.
“The drones allegedly discovered on Polish territory have a shorter flight range than the distance from that territory to the Russian border. Russia has never directed its UAVs or missiles at EU or NATO states,” Lavrov said.
He also accused Western countries of making threats to use force against Russia.
“Threats to use force against Russia are being voiced more and more often, while Moscow is accused of supposedly planning to attack NATO and EU countries. President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly debunked such provocations. Russia has never had, and does not have, such intentions,” Lavrov stated.
At the same time, he noted that Moscow currently “does not see the U.S. abandoning its course of refusing open, honest dialogue with Russia. In a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a desire was noted to implement projects where Russian and American interests coincide.”
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova claimed that Ukraine was preparing drone strikes on Romania and Poland in order to “provoke a NATO war with Russia.”
