Ukrainian refugees will have to pay a fee to extend their stay in the U.S.
19.10.2025 17:02U.S. President Donald Trump’s special representative, Stephen Witkoff, on Friday urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to concessions to Vladimir Putin regarding the Donetsk region.
This was reported by The Washington Post, citing its sources.
According to the publication, Witkoff considers the region to be Russian-speaking.
“During the meeting between Zelensky and Trump, Witkoff pressured the Ukrainian delegation over the issue of transferring Donetsk, emphasizing that the region is predominantly Russian-speaking,” the newspaper wrote.
The same article also reported that during his most recent conversation with Trump, Putin repeated his demand that Russia be given control over the entire Donetsk region.
It should be recalled that Western media previously reported that after meeting with Zelensky, Trump came away with the impression that Ukraine does not want peace and is seeking escalation.
